Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound baby carrots
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring water and baby carrots to a boil in a large saucepan. Cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Drain the carrots and return them to the pan.
  3. Add butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to the pan.
  4. Cook over medium heat until the butter is melted and the caramel sauce forms, about 3-5 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure all the carrots are coated.
  5. Serve warm as a delightful side dish to accompany steak or chicken.

Notes

Feel free to swap brown sugar for maple syrup or add nuts for a crunchy topping. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
