- 14 oz Sourdough Loaf
- 10 tbsp Butter (unsalted), softened
- 12 cloves Garlic (peeled)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, plus more for garnish)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/4 tsp Sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350℉.
- Carefully slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch slices, taking care not to slice all the way through.
- Set it on a parchment or foil-lined sheet pan.
- Add the garlic cloves and red pepper flakes to a small ramekin and pour olive oil over them to coat.
- Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until the garlic is fork tender. Let it cool completely.
- Remove the garlic from the oil and smash the cloves into a creamy paste.
- Combine softened butter, roasted garlic paste, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chopped parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
- Season lightly with sea salt.
- Spread the buttery garlic mixture into all the slits of the bread using an offset spatula.
- Wrap the prepared bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, letting the topping crisp up.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
