Description

This Sourdough Garlic Bread recipe is a cozy and comforting side dish, perfect for any occasion with its warm garlic and buttery flavors.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sourdough Loaf
  • 10 tbsp Butter (unsalted), softened
  • 12 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, plus more for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉.
  2. Carefully slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch slices, taking care not to slice all the way through.
  3. Set it on a parchment or foil-lined sheet pan.
  4. Add the garlic cloves and red pepper flakes to a small ramekin and pour olive oil over them to coat.
  5. Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until the garlic is fork tender. Let it cool completely.
  6. Remove the garlic from the oil and smash the cloves into a creamy paste.
  7. Combine softened butter, roasted garlic paste, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chopped parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
  8. Season lightly with sea salt.
  9. Spread the buttery garlic mixture into all the slits of the bread using an offset spatula.
  10. Wrap the prepared bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, letting the topping crisp up.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage.
