Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole turkey breast
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika
- Wood chips for smoking (e.g., hickory or applewood)
- Turkey drippings (for gravy)
- Flour (for gravy)
- Chicken broth (for gravy)
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- Season the turkey breast generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Place the seasoned turkey breast in the smoker and let it smoke for about 180-240 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once done, carefully remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
- For the gravy, collect the drippings from the smoked turkey into a saucepan. Over medium heat, add flour to the drippings and whisk until it turns a golden brown. Gradually add chicken broth, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens and is smooth.
- Serve the sliced turkey breast drizzled with the smoked turkey gravy.
Notes
Make ahead the smoked turkey breast a day in advance and reheat gently in the oven to keep it juicy. For neat slices, use a sharp knife and cut against the grain.
