- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 2 1/2 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Sift the confectioners (powdered) sugar into a bowl and set it aside.
- Grease an 8 x 8 pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium-sized saucepan set to medium heat, melt the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the brown sugar, salt, and milk. Stir frequently.
- Keep stirring until you start to see bubbles. When you notice them, start a 2-minute timer.
- Continue boiling and stirring for exactly 2 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat immediately.
- Stir in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Beat the mixture with a hand mixer until completely blended and creamy.
- Carefully add in the sifted powdered sugar, mixing until thoroughly combined. Don’t forget to scrape down the sides of the bowl!
- Pour the mixture into your prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Cover and let it cool at room temperature until it firms up, about 1-2 hours.
- Once set, cut into 1-inch squares and enjoy!
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute with non-dairy butter and milk alternative. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
