Deliciously chewy cookies infused with cocoa and chocolate chips, reminiscent of a warm cup of hot chocolate.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a refreshing twist, add peppermint candies or a few drops of peppermint extract. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
