Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in soy sauce and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. Sauté the sliced onion and bell pepper in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  5. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, adding black pepper, oyster sauce, sugar, and chicken broth. Stir until well combined.
  7. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving hot.
