Description
A comforting and crispy chicken dish tossed in a sweet and savory sesame sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup corn starch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup sesame oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, corn starch, salt, and pepper in a bowl. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed and frothy.
- Dip the chicken pieces into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat them with the flour mixture.
- Heat the sesame oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix the soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar in a separate bowl to create the sauce.
- Drain the excess oil from the chicken and toss it with the sesame sauce until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with green onions if desired. Serve immediately for a delightful meal.
Notes
Marinate the chicken in the sauce for enhanced flavor, and try using tofu for a vegetarian version.
