Description

A warm, gooey, and rich Chocolate Cobbler that brings comfort on chilly nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups hot water
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl, mixing well.
  3. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Mix the brown sugar and hot water in a separate bowl, then gently pour this over the batter—be sure not to stir!
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and crispy.
  7. Cool for a few minutes before serving, topping with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

Can be prepared ahead of time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
