Description

A warm and comforting lasagna layered with rich flavors of ground beef, creamy ricotta, and melty mozzarella, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, stirring until it’s fully cooked. Drain the excess fat to keep your dish from being greasy.
  3. Combine the ricotta cheese, egg, chopped basil, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir until all elements are well combined and creamy.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish, creating a flavorful foundation for your lasagna.
  5. Layer 4 noodles on top, followed by half of the cooked beef, half of the ricotta mixture, and one-third of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layering process — noodles, beef, ricotta, mozzarella — ending with noodles and a generous layer of marinara sauce on top.
  7. Finish by sprinkling the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. When time is up, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Once it’s out of the oven, let it stand for 10 minutes before serving. This resting time helps achieve perfect slices and allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

You can replace ground beef with turkey or use plant-based meat for a lighter or vegan option.
