Description

Delightful banana bread cinnamon rolls drizzled with creamy frosting, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the warmed milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the mashed bananas, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; stir until well combined.
  4. Mix in the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth, elastic dough forms, about 5 minutes.
  5. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle on a floured surface and spread softened butter evenly over the surface.
  7. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, followed by sliced bananas.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log, sealing the edges.
  9. Slice the log into rolls and place them in a greased baking dish, spacing them closely together.
  10. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  13. Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the rolls and serve warm.

Notes

You can prepare the dough up to the first rise and refrigerate overnight for convenience.
