Description

Deliciously gooey chocolate chip cookies that create cherished memories and bring warmth to your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
  4. Add in the vanilla and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
  6. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips and optional nuts.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too flat before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
