Description

A cozy comfort meal featuring a delightful blend of savory flavors from Swiss cheese, turkey bacon, and sautéed mushrooms, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Optionally, line a baking sheet with foil or use a loaf pan.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the sliced mushrooms in the bacon fat until browned and tender, then set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Mix gently.
  5. Fold in half of the shredded Swiss cheese into the meat mixture.
  6. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet or in the loaf pan.
  7. Top the meatloaf with the remaining Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and crispy turkey bacon.
  8. Bake for 45–55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  9. Let rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
