Description

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well integrated.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and pinch of salt, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  5. Stir in the sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in the flour until just combined—don’t overmix!
  7. Incorporate walnuts at this stage if desired, folding them in until evenly dispersed.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing it out gently.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This banana bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or frozen for up to a month.
