Description

A comforting one-pan meal of creamy orzo with savory chicken sausage and broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned and flavorful, about 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the orzo pasta and chicken broth to the pan, and bring it all to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender and creamy.
  7. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
