Description

A delightful twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring sweet Hawaiian rolls and gooey Monterey Jack cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional: Sliced tomatoes or crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Slicing the Hawaiian rolls in half without cutting all the way through to create a pocket.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and spread butter on the insides of each roll.
  3. Place the bottom halves of the rolls onto the skillet and fill generously with shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
  4. Press down slightly with the top halves of the rolls.
  5. Grill the rolls for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh Hawaiian rolls for the best texture. Keep the heat low to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
