Description

A quick and delicious recipe for oven-roasted mushrooms coated in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) fresh whole mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro) for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim the stems if necessary. You can leave them whole or slice them in half.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Place the cleaned mushrooms into the bowl and toss them in the sauce until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the coated mushrooms on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, tossing them halfway through for even cooking.

Notes

You can prepare the mushrooms and sauce a few hours in advance. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
