Description

A quick and easy homemade enchilada sauce bursting with comforting spices and delicious flavors ideal for tacos, burritos, and enchiladas.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the tomato sauce and vegetable broth.
  4. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  5. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
