Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Mix in the melted butter well with the bananas.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Add sugar, the beaten egg, and vanilla extract; mix until cohesive.
  6. Mix in the flour and gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use ripe bananas with lots of brown spots for the best flavor. For neat slices, use a serrated bread knife.
