Description

These Broccoli Cheese Balls are a delightful, crispy snack that combines tender broccoli and gooey cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked broccoli, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crispiness)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Broccoli: Steam or boil your broccoli until tender. Let cool and chop into small pieces.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a bowl, combine chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, panko breadcrumbs, eggs, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Add Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
  3. Form the Cheese Balls: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Form the mixture into golf ball-sized spheres and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the Cheese Balls: Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly and serve warm, great with sauces like ranch or marinara.

Notes

You can prepare the broccoli mixture a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator before baking. For extra crunch, bake on a cooling rack.
